With the release of Field Configuration, you now have the power to make changes to your Clari instance in the blink of an eye. It isn’t uncommon for old or less frequently used fields from your Salesforce instance to be present in Clari. Whether it was set up initially during implementation or there have been shifts in the business, it has never been easier to button up your instance by removing noisy/unused fields.Â

Audit Existing Instance

Take a quick inventory of fields within Clari by scanning through modes and their respective layouts like Opportunity Grid, Filterable, Groupable, and the Details Panel

Check the box beside any suspect fields to be deleted, and save the changes in your drafts—note that this won’t apply the changes to your Clari instance until you review your changes and publish them

Make note of any fields that you aren’t certain about and review them with your Salesforce Admin or associated team memberÂ

Work directly with the users this impacts

Grab time with or send a quick email to a handful of the users who would be impacted by the changes, and get their feedback on the different fields for the respective modes you intend to removeÂ

Adjust any fields you’ve marked for deletion in Field Configuration according to the team’s feedbackÂ

Low Hanging Fruit First

Find the old fields that you know are no longer in use or haven’t been used in favor of a newer fieldÂ

Check each Mode to ensure it’s in use and up to date, and delete any old or unused modes once you’ve validated that there are not any views still leveraging the old mode

Review List of Proposed Changes

Click the Review Changes button in Field Configuration to spot-check your changes prior to pushing them to your live Clari instance
