Keeping Clari Copilot in Calls That Go Silent

We have reps who host meetings that have multiple sections to them that can last for a while. For example, they might have an hour of onboarding demo, following by a 30-minute break, followed by an hour of testing/Q&A. As I understand it, if there is 10 minutes of silence on a call, Clari Copilot will stop recording and leave the call. This is a problem because we want the entire meeting in only one recording when we share it with the customer, as that reduces the manual work of setting up calls, joining calls, etc.

But we’ve had instances where our users were unaware of the 10-minute rule and didn’t realize that Clari Copilot didn’t recall the 2nd half of the meeting. Our current band-aid is to tell them to either manually say something every 9 minutes during breaks to keep Clari Copilot in the call or resign themselves to setting up individual meetings for the topics before and after the breaks.

To the Clari Team - Am I understanding the 10-minute mechanism correctly? Is there is a feature that would allow us to disable this 10-minute mechanism, either companywide or within individual user or call settings? Or are there any existing solutions to navigate this? And if that doesn’t exist, we’d like to submit that as a feature request.

For my fellow Clari customers combing through the discussion board, have you run into this issue and have any creative workarounds?

Hi @ryan.costello— Thanks for sharing this question with the Community!

Your understanding of the 10-minute mechanism is correct.  If Copilot detects silence for 10 minutes, Copilot will leave the call.  This functionality is not currently customizable via an admin- or user-level setting, nor is it currently customizable on the back end.  That being said, we understand how being able to have some control over this mechanism would benefit teams with meeting use cases like yours.  We’d encourage you to submit an Idea in the Community here so that it can be added to our product team’s feedback repository and be considered as a future enhancement opportunity.

I’ve shared this use case with some of our Copilot SMEs and they’ve also recommended that users ensure something is said in the meeting every so often as the best current workaround to ensure that Copilot remains in the call during the 30-minute breaks.  As you mentioned in your post, that workaround is a bit manual and can be easy to forget or miss.  However, aside from breaking meetings up, that does appear to be the best solution with how Copilot is designed today.

Hi @ryan.costello— Thanks for submitting this feedback to us as an idea!  I’ve just followed up on the Idea post itself to confirm we’ve received it and that it’s been added to our product team’s feedback repository.
