With each user having the power to create, edit and save their own Views, it’s easy to have different teams looking at slightly different data. To get around this, Clari provides you with tools to manage Saved Views and Dashboards of any kind through the Saved View Management and Dashboard Management modules in Clari Studio.
The links above highlight how to take advantage of these modules. The focus of this post will be on when and why you should! The points below are applicable to both Saved View and Dashboard management.
When looking to get started on where you can keep Clari clean, we suggest impersonating a handful of users at different parts of the hierarchy. From there, poke around, open up their views and get a better sense around if a little clean up would go a long way.
-
Standardizing Clari
-
Use the search function in the management tools to limit results to similar views that may have slightly different naming conventions
-
Try to ensure you are consistent in naming conventions when it comes to your most important views
-
Aim to eliminate or rename views where it may be redundant compared to what you or other users have created
-
-
Renaming Views into Questions ❓
-
A common practice we’ve seen become much more popular is renaming or creating views to be a question opposed to a more generic name
-
By doing this, a user can take advantage of the search functionality in Clari to find views in how they might ask questions to a search engine
-
For instance, you may want to rename a current quarter open pipeline view
-
Old name: CQ: Open Pipeline
-
New name: What’s my current quarter open pipeline?

-
Adjusting Ownership
-
Saying goodbye to a colleague can be difficult, but don’t let them go without seeing what Views they use
-
Whenever a new admin or leader is coming onboard, ensure that the relevant Dashboards and Views are shared with them, and give them ownership of said Views
-
-
Removing Noise 🎤
-
Delete old or unused fields so that users aren’t seeing a sea of irrelevant Views pop up
-
Check for duplicative Views that share similar but different names to help reduce any potential confusion
-
Use the “Not Accessed In the Last 30 Days” filter to get a sense of direction around what may not be essential Views to keep
-
-
Above the Fold 📄
-
Reorder the most used views to be up at the top and prevent users from scrolling through a ton of views
-
Filter by module (for Saved Views) and mode to ensure each module is showing the best Views at the top of their list
