Groove determines whether an email is bounced or not by scanning users’ emails for nay bounce codes returned by email providers, such as Gmail or Microsoft.  Groove’s bounce detection logic is used to fire any “On Bounce” automated actions that teams have configured at the Flow-, Collection-, or Global-level in their organization.  For teams using Groove’s bounce code feature, Groove’s bounce detection logic is also used to write email bounce data to the Salesforce Task that corresponds with the outbound email that bounced.

Groove’s bounce detection logic does not consider automatic replies, like out-of-office responses, as email bounces.  If your team has the Out of Office Detection feature enabled for your team, Groove will automatically pause Flow participants in their Flow whenever an automatic reply is detected.
