Wondering if it would be possible to show a dynamic target for the goals on the historical trend line widget in Clari.

Thanks,

Janica

Hi @Janica Bills— Thanks for sharing this question with the Community!

Currently, the Historical View Widget supports a single manual goal line, not a dynamic target that changes per viewer or scope.

Current Functionality

  • The Historical View widget lets you set a custom goal that appears as a line for comparison against the trend. This goal is entered manually.

  • Only one goal can be applied to a widget at a time. Changing the Scope on a dashboard does not update that goal dynamically, meaning the manually entered goal remains the same.

  • It is not currently possible to have the goal automatically adjust based on who is viewing the dashboard (e.g., a leader seeing their own quota by default).

Possible Workarounds

  • Create separate widgets (or dashboards) per leader and set each widget’s goal to that leader’s target. Then, share the appropriate dashboard with each person. This avoids ambiguity while preserving a clear goal line.

  • Use Forecast widgets for target visibility (quota, closed, primary forecast call) where appropriate, as these surface goal-related context in a way many leaders expect for target tracking.

  • If you need a pacing target in current quarter, consider the Pulse widget which shows a dotted pacing line (e.g., 20% by Week 4, 50% by Week 8) for linearity checks. This gives goal-oriented context, though it’s separate from Historical View.

If none of those workarounds work well for your team, I would recommend submitting an Idea for this functionality in our Community here, which will add your feedback to our product team’s repository so that they can consider your idea as a future enhancement opportunity.
