As a revenue operations team that manages a SaaS portfolio, it is critical for us to forecast three numbers; Renewal, New Business (New Logo & Expansion), and Total Amount.

In our Forecast view, we can easily separate based on the associated SFDC fields. If I am looking to show only the new amount or Renewal amount in a dashboard view is that possible. Simply pinning a filtered view seems to only pull from the total amount field.

Ie. How many deals have impacted Commit decreasing (ie. slipped, closed lost, downgraded)? What is the total of new business? Renewal Business?

Right now I can see I lost $100 but I cannot see that 50.00 was new business and 50.00 was renewal.

Can Clari support this kind of view?

Hi, Jeanine — in cases where you have new business and renewal amounts on the same opportunities, then one option may be to use Modes hat focus on those different amount fields as the primary amount field (i.e. a mode that focuses on the new business amount, and a another mode that focuses on the renewals amount as the primary amount field). Then, you could create Saved Views from these Modes and pin them to your Dashboards. These widgets would use the primary amount field from the mode, so this should give you the visibility into these other amounts you’re looking for. My tip would be to have a very clear, consistent method for naming these views so that it’s easy to know what you’re looking at in each widget in this dashboard.

This post on When to Create a Mode might be useful. Your CSM can also help you think through if this is a good option for you, and you can check out this recording on How to Create a Mode as well as the Field Config resources in the University and the Knowledge Base if you need them!

Thanks Kenna,

However that does not solve the ask unfortunately. I want to see a summarized view on the one dashboard. One Dashboard, One Widget, One Opp, 3 numbers.

The business question is: Which part of my forecast was impacted by this loss or push?

It is a poor experience to have to multiple Widgets or dashboards to answer 1 question.
