With Auto Capture there is a setting to allow when you first sync emails back to Salesforce to include Past Activities.  This causes an issue because Salesforce displays the acitviities in the activity sidebar by the date they are completed..

This is an issue because on 1st sync because we are syncing completed emails from the past, all the activities are showing up for the month they are created… I checked this with Salesforce and they confirmed that the ‘CompletedDateTime’ is an audit field that cannot be manipulated.

As we are created the emails as Completed Salesforce is stamping this field as completed on the day they are created.. so instead of the emails showing up in salesforce on the day they are sent they are showing up on the day they were created…

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE?  and was there anything you were able to do to recitfy it or did you accept all emails were completed on the day they were created?

Actual response from Salesforce

I appreciate your patience and understanding here. I understand the following points after trying out the things in my demo organization:

In the activity timeline,

if the task is not completed, then it will be in the Overdue/Upcoming section, sorted by the Due date

If the task is completed, then it is sorted by the completed date and time. (Not by due date or created date.)

The clari integration is creating the task with past due dates and marking them as completed while creating itself. That is why we are seeing all the tasks for today, hence they are marked as completed today during creation.

Hi @Karen Brown I think this may be down to your SFDC settings the Due Date on the activity should be controlling the order that the activities show up in the timeline in SFDC. We have sent you a separate email directly to confirm a couple of things with you. I will also share with you how we have it sent up in our own SFDC today too. :)
