Feature Inquiry / Enhancement Request: Historical Point-in-Time Filtering & Snapshot Grouping

Hi team -

I am looking to build a pipeline trend visualization (stacked graph) that utilizes historical snapshots. The goal is to track the evolution of our pipeline while applying specific logic to the data as it existed at the time of the snapshot, rather than based on "Current" opportunity data.


Requirements:

  1. Dynamic Snapshot Filtering (R4Q):

    • I need to apply a Rolling 4 Quarters filter to each individual snapshot.

    • Logic: When looking at a snapshot from 6 months ago, the graph should only display opportunities that had a Close Date within the R4Q window relative to that specific date.

  2. Point-in-Time Grouping (Custom Buckets):

    • I need to group "Sales Stages" into 2 or 3 specific custom categories (e.g., Qualified vs. Unqualified).

    • This grouping must reflect the stage the opportunity was in at the time of the snapshot.

  3. Visualization:

    • A Stacked Bar or Area Chart showing the pipeline trend month-over-month or quarter-over-quarter.

 

Is this currently achievable? If so, can you guide me on whether this requires a specific "Trend" widget configuration or a custom Calculated Field?

Hi Dan,

We have a product called “Trend” that shows quarterly snap shots broken down by forecast category or stage and conversions of each of those buckets.  When you set a time frame, it lines up as such: DD/YY date in the quarter in XX bucket (ie. stage / forecast category) and you converted YY amount of revenue (sorry a lot of place holders so lmk if that doesn’t make sense).  This will also show you current quarter outlooks using the same logic if you wanted to look further into the quarter.  

For comparing how your team is forecasting vs what Clari is calling, you can leverage a different tool called “Pulse”.  I’ve included links to resources to go into more detail on both products below.

Hi ​@mimianderson - thanks for your feedback on this! 

I’ve had a look at both Trend and Pulse and I think that the information provided is not exactly what I am after; while Pulse offers a great view of how the last year played out and how this year is also playing out, I’m looking to find a view similar to the historical view widget that you can add to dashboards, but to be able to group Sales Stages into predefined “buckets”.

I know that Clari takes regular snapshots in time, hence why I think I could be the best option to offer such a view, in order for us to understand how our pipeline is changing over time (as that’s the final goal).
