We’ve run into an issue where Clari displays all Salesforce Stage picklist values when users update the Stage field, instead of only those that apply to the opportunity’s Record Type.
For example, our General Sales opportunities have a different set of stages than our Renewal opportunities. In Salesforce, this works as expected because the Sales Process functionality limits stage options by Record Type. However, this restriction isn’t reflected in Clari, so we’ve seen cases where users accidentally change a General Sales opportunity to a Renewal-only stage.
Has anyone found a way to make Clari respect the stage picklist restrictions by Record Type? Ideally, we’d like to prevent users from even seeing incompatible stages in Clari, rather than creating a Salesforce validation rule just to block the save in Clari.
How are you handling this in your org? Any tips or creative solutions?

Hi, @Peggy Sue Marlin! When users edit the Stage in Clari, they should only see the stage values allowed for that opportunity’s Record Type per Salesforce Sales Process configuration, but we have seen instances in which the Stage field isn’t present on the opportunity’s Page Layout for that Record Type, and Clari falls back to showing the full set of active stages from Salesforce. It’s possible that users are seeing all the stages because the Stage field may not be included or editable on the page layout used by that Record Type for the users editing in Clari; in that case, Salesforce returns a superset of choices and Clari displays them.
It’s also possible that recent changes to stage values or sales processes may not be reflected yet in Clari’s schema, and in that case I can recommend reaching out to our support team to help with a refresh to ensure that Clari picks up the latest changes.

UPDATE: This issue is resolved, and Clari is now showing the correct Stage values by Record Type. We did have to submit a support case, and Clari enabled a feature flag to make this work for us.
Hi @Peggy Sue Marlin! Thanks for following up and sharing that working with our support team to get a feature flag enabled for your instance did the trick. 🙌
